Clubs and Organizations

We encourage you to get involved in a club/organization that interests you, or to start a club/organization we don't currently have!

Hawkeye clubs and organizations are student-driven with a faculty or staff member as an advisor.

BASIC—Brothers and Sisters in Christ: Christian club. Members have gatherings and work closely with the BASIC group from UNI.

Business Professionals of America: Club for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology, and other related career fields.

Chi Alpha: Chi Alpha exists to give every Hawkeye student an opportunity to encounter the love of God and grow with others.

Criminal Justice Club: Club for students involved or interested in the Criminal Justice or Police Science programs.

Education Club: Special interest club for education and child development students.

Hawkeye Gamers Club: Special interest club. Members play group computer games.

Hawkeye Pride Organization: Student organization focused on the LGBTQ+ community and interests, education, and advocacy. The organization is a safe zone open to all LGBTQ+ and ally students.

International Student Organization: Club for students to learn about different cultures and traditions bridging the gap between International and American students.

Multicultural Student Organization: Diversity club that works to raise awareness of the diversity of Hawkeye Community College and the Cedar Valley.

Natural Resources Club: Focus on outdoor studies involving the environment.

Occupational Therapy Assistant Club: Special interest group for Occupational Therapy Assistant students.

Performing Arts Club: Special interest club for students desiring a performance experience in theater or musical arts.

Phi Theta Kappa: Academic honor society. You must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. They offer leadership skills, fellowship, and scholarships.

Photography Club: Club for students interested in photography and photojournalism.

Physical Therapist Assistant Club: Club for Physical Therapist Assistant students.

Psychology/Sociology/Social Work Club: Special interest club for students interested in Psychology, Sociology, and Social Work.

Respiratory Care Club: Special interest group for Respiratory Care students.

STEM Club: The STEM Club educates students about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) majors and careers.

Student Ambassadors: The members of this club are the main representatives of Hawkeye Community College, Experience Hawkeye Visit Days, and many other special events on and off campus.

Student American Dental Assistant Association (SADAA): Special interest group for Dental Assisting students.

Student American Dental Hygienists Association (SADHA): Special interest group for Dental Hygiene and Dental Assistant students.

Student-Athlete Advisory Committee: The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is an organization that provides student-athletes a voice in addressing issues of student-athletes welfare at Hawkeye Community College.

Student Leadership Council: The voice of the students at Hawkeye Community College. Members are involved in leadership, legislation, all the activities on campus, and much more.

Student Nursing Association: Special interest group for Practical Nursing and Associate Degree Nursing students.

Student Veterans of America: Special interest club for veterans and current military as well as family and friends.

The Salt Company The Salt Company is the college ministry of Candeo Church that exists to help Hawkeye, UNI, and Wartburg students find their greatest joy in Jesus.

Web Development Club: Special interest club for Web Programming and Development students and those interested in programming.

If campus is closed, the Brock Student Center is also closed. This includes weather-related closings. See scheduled college closings.
